ACP PROGRAMS - Portfolio Review
Added in 2005 at the request of photographers, the ACP Portfolio Review and Walk offers artists the opportunity to meet with highly respected curators, dealers, editors, and agency representatives from across the United States and beyond. The Portfolio Walk (following the review sessions) gives participating photographers the opportunity to present their work to the general public at an evening reception, open to all.

Sponsored in part by Turner Broadcasting and their "Turner Voices" initiative, 17 reviewers and 51 artists will meet one Saturday in October. Each photographer will meet privately with five reviewers for twenty minutes each. Every year we have many more applicants than available slots, so each application will be evaluated by ACP and a third-party judge to determine if the applicant may participate in the Reviews.

Please join our email list, or visit this page, to be notified once we begin accepting applications (around June). Registrants will be contacted with the results at the end of July. The cost of the review is $300 (for a minimum of 5 reviews).

ACP 11 Portfolio Review Lecture
Michelle Dunn Marsh from Aperture
"The publishing world has changed more in the last five years than in the previous five centuries; what does this mean to the segment that is photo book publishing? Michelle Dunn Marsh will discuss some of the joys and challenges in the process of making art books today, including insights on the investment publishers and museums make in each book, the importance in considering what makes a great book, not just a portfolio of photographs, the evolutionary stages from a few prints to a finished book and the years in between, the new opportunities in self-producing books, and most important, the eternal joy and critical importance of experiencing photography in book form. Examples from a variety of books will be shown, and questions are most welcome."
