ACP PROGRAMS - Collector's SeriesACP designed this program to educate the public about collecting photography and to broaden the collector base for Atlanta photographers. Speakers have included Denise Bethel, Director of the Photographs department, Sotheby's, NY; Jane Jackson, Curator of the Sir Elton John Collection; Paul R. Jones, Collector; and Anne Wilkes Tucker, Curator of Photography, Museum of Fine Art, Houston.

Thinking of making your first photography purchase? Maybe you already have purchased a few pieces, but would feel better if you knew more about the history of the medium? Are you a seasoned collector but need a refresher?

Using real-life examples, Susan Todd-Raque will guide you through a brief history of the medium, focusing on the major ideas and movements. She will demystify printing nomenclature and explain editioning, the importance of forming relationships with photography dealers, and how to ask the right questions when looking at photography. To conclude the seminar, Atlanta's premier fine art framer, Myott Studios, will give a short presentation on how and when to protect your artwork from damage; including mounting, matting, framing and UV protection.

Susan Todd-Raque provides art advisory services for private collectors, corporations and artists. she brings a wealth of knowledge from over 20 years as an independent consultant, curator, educator, appraiser and writer on the photographic arts.

Myott is a self-taught painter, sculptor, and framer. For over 30 years, Myott Studios has focused on hand crafted frame designs as well as restoration and conservation of fine art.
