Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP)In This NewsletterACP 9 Concludes, Thank You for Your SupportWith just two events remaining, we wanted to thank you for making this year's festival an unprecedented success! With your support, ACP delivered a Lecture Series with such international photography superstars as Sam Taylor-Wood and Alec Soth (at the High Museum), had a standing-room only Spotlight Lecture by local photographer Sheila Pree Bright (at MOCA GA), and a magical night in our Film Series under the stars (and railroad tracks!) at Davis Waldron Fine Art. We collaborated with SCAD, the Art Institute of Atlanta, and Lumiere Gallery, and brought events to venues all over town including Eyedrum, Georgia Tech and Piedmont Park. Many of you experienced our public art project Paper Placemats (ATL) at area restaurants throughout the month (hint... you can still see this project at a few restaurants throughout November if you know where to look). Plus, our Portfolio Reviews were a smashing success. Distinguished reviewers saw the work of over 150 photographers from 14 states and positive feedback continues to arrive from both reviewers and participants. We can't forget to mention the event that kicked it all off - our live Photography Auction on September 28th, an outrageously fun event hosted by Sotheby's head of photographs Denise Bethel. Over Many thanks to Anne Dennington, the outgoing Executive Director of ACP, for her inspiring leadership. We will miss you, Anne!
