This year’s ACP Portfolio Review was at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, and the Portfolio Walk had a special spirit of photographers, reviewers and the public connecting in new and exciting ways. Here’s a brief look at the Walk & Reception, featuring interviews with Judy Lampert, Valerie Oliveiro, Alan Chimacoff, and a reviewer, Darren Ching of Klompching Gallery.

“Grant Romer, world-renowned photography authority and former Director of Conservation for the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York, introduces recently evolved thinking about the daguerreotype in light of the dramatic changes in imaging and information technology over the last ten years.

Romer also examines the basics of daguerreotype connoisseurship through an overview of the history of the process and illustrations of the unique qualities of the daguerreotype.”

Chip Simone’s “Resonant Image” opens on Saturday, and ACP was able to spend some time with Chip during the exhibition installation to hear his thoughts about the show. The video below was produced in collaboration with ArtRelish.com, and we’ll be working together this summer to bring you previews of shows, behind-the-scenes with artists, and generally take a look at what goes into events that are part of the festival every October.
