"Fay Gold Gallery is pleased to present, the first one man show of Atlanta Photographer, Marko Brandon. Born in 1970 in Seattle, Brandon grew up in Athens, Greece. As a teenager, he moved to Atlanta and became fascinated with photography and baroque Art. He has been fortunate to be able to collect art from Byzantine icons to European master paintings. He has traveled to Italy, Spain, England, and France to research baroque paintings from his personal collection, findings that triggered his interest in the process behind the images. Over the last decade of experimenting with photogram/x-ray, Brandon has developed his own contemporary style of modern art combining art history with modern techniques. Just as an x-ray reveals the archeology of the body, a radiograph uncovers the archeology of baroque paintings. Brandon reveals the wooden stretchers, nails, ragged canvas edges of works by Guido Reni, Antoine-Sebastien Falardeau and others. All of the photograms are mounted on aluminum. Please join us for the opening on January 16, 2014 from 6-9pm, at the Westside Cultural Arts Center 760 10th Street NW Atlanta, GA 30318 For more information and images please contact Amy Fisher 404-372-8047"
