John Nowak‘s “Too Busy to Hate: Ponce de Leon 2006-2011″ will open at the indie-pendent on June 1st, with a reception from 6-9pm.

“The Indie-pendent is proud to announce a photographic exhibition of photography from John Nowak. Too Busy to Hate: Ponce de Leon 2006-2011 is a rich collection culled from thousands of images Nowak has captured along one of Atlanta’s most intriguing avenues. Taken over a period of five years, the growth and squalor of the densely urban background is contrasted with a variety of characters who highlight the mood of a city as it moves into the new century. Nowak’s camera lingers on curious moments and brackish corners, relying on his background as a photojournalist to evoke a distinct portrayal of Atlanta’s further evolution from the tides of urban renewal.”
