Monday Quick Links

A few quick items on this shivery Monday.

Atlanta Artist Relief Program

* If you’d like to help out Atlanta artists who were affected by the tornado, please click the image here on the right to get involved with the Atlanta Artist Relief Program. Info via Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs & E. Fleurov. If you want to attend a benefit, Lenny’s Bar will be holding two, on April 5th and April 19th.

* Denise Lira-Ratinoff’s one-night only show “At First Sight II” was reviewed over on the “Bare & Bitter Sleep” blog, which appears to be taking stock of Atlanta’s art scene.

* This Thursday, March 27, at 7 pm, Lisa Kurzner will be speaking at the High Museum, using the “Street Life” exhibit as a jumping-off place to examine the history of street photography as well as issues of personal/private photography. The exhibit, featuring Garry Winogrand, Danny Lyon, Susan Meiselas, and Dennis Carlyle Darling, will be on view through August 10th. While you’re at it, have a listen to a walk-thru of the exhibit with High Museum curator Julian Cox on ACP Now!.

* If you missed the “Colorfields” opening at Opal Gallery on Thursday night, there are photos of installing the installation over on clickclique. Better still, why not go and see it yourself? It’s up through April 2nd.

* Composition Gallery has changed their hours, in case you wanted to see “A Thousand Words”, which will be up through April 27th. They’re open on Friday & Saturday 12-7, and Sunday 12-4.

* ACP wants to thank Slow Exposures and everyone we met in Zebulon for their hospitality and charm this weekend. We hope to bring you a video to ACP Now! later this week that helps describe the Slow Exposures mission; in the meantime, if you’re a photographer, consider submitting work for their juried show in September.
