Big Week for Art About the Beltline

Georgia State has an opening reception tonight for Urban Intervention: The Beltline a multimedia installation from local artists and architects that explores issues surrounding Atlanta’s Beltline.

The opening’s beltlinefrom 5-8pm with an artists talk at 6, at the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design Gallery, at Georgia State. For more info, see the Reconstructing Atlanta site.

Concurrently, Ruth Dusseault, who’s the Georgia Tech College of Architecture’s artist-in-residence, launched PhotosOfTheBeltline.org this week, a photographic exploration of the Beltline region by college-level photography instructors and students. Dusseault’s project is also featured in the exhibition at Georgia State.

Both projects are part of “re\constructingatlanta: a contemporary continuum” at Georgia State. If you’re interested in contemporary art, architecture and urban design in ATL, have a look.
